Sara Treece

Sara was born and raised in Cincinnati. She became involved with Sweeten Life Systems through her father and fellow board member, Ron Peake. When her son, Gideon, was born she stepped into two new roles: Mother and Advocate.

Gideon was born with Cerebral Palsy and other medical issues. Sarah became determined to make sure her son had the same opportunities for a normal childhood that she had. She became involved in a multitude of different organizations for kids with special needs. Cincinnati TopSoccer, Miracle League Baseball through the Cincinnati Recreation Commission, horseback riding with Cincinnati Therapeutic Riding and Horsemanship, adaptive skiing at Perfect North Slopes, and summer camp at Stepping Stones are a few of the activities they enjoy.

When her son expressed an interest in wheelchair basketball she became a founding member of the Greater Cincinnati Adaptive Sports Club, which started a junior wheelchair basketball team called the Cincinnati Dragons. Sarah strives to advocate not only for her son, but any kid with a disability or chronic health problem. She wants to see them as kids rather than a disability. She teaches her son that he's so much more than his disability.
